The Aberdeen Branch of the United Nations Association is very honoured that Des Browne has agreed to speak at its first meeting in the coming season.
Des Browne (Lord Browne of Ladyton and former Secretary of State for Defence 2006-8) is involved in a number expert bodies looking at disarmament issues, and is a leading thinker in the field. He currently acts as convener of the Top Level Group of UK Parliamentarians for Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament and Non-proliferation, established in October 2009. He has a lead-role in the European Leadership Network, and Joint-Convener of the BASIC Trident Commission.
