The Rt Hon the Lord Owen CH FRCP.
David Owen was a Member of Parliament from 1966 to 1992, when he became a Life Peer.
Having been Foreign Secretary during the 1970s, he has been particularly well placed to continue to take an active interest in international affairs and from 1992-95 was EU peace negotiator in the Balkans.
His expertise as a doctor has given him particular insight about the mental and physical conditions of world politicians about which he has written two books, leading to the conclusion that there "is compelling evidence that the course of history has been changed by the ill health of world leaders".
With his particular background and knowledge, and following an important general election, Lord Owen has been asked to share his view on "Global Britain".
