New Minister for Disabled People responds to UNA-UK

On the eve of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, UNA-UK Executive Director Phil Mulligan wrote to the Minister for Disabled People. The letter conveys the Association's hope that the real legacy of the Games will be a shift in attitudes towards disability, as well as practical support to ensure that the UK's 10 million disabled people can participate fully in all aspects of life.

It also urges the UK to reconsider the three reservations it has made to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In the recent cabinet reshuffle, Esther McVey MP moved to the post of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Disabled People. You can read her response to our letter below.
