On Monday 17 September, the School of Oriental & African Studies will host the launch of 'Living with the Trees of Life: Towards the Transformation of Tropical Agriculture' - a new publication by renowned agronomist and UNA Scotland member, Professor Roger R B Leakey.

Are you interested in:

  • Investing in environmental and agricultural sustainability in Africa?
  • Poverty, malnutrition, hunger, environmental degradation and climate change?
  • Trees which for millennia have provided traditional solutions to nutrition, illness and day-to-day life?

Leakey's practical and imaginative book shows how different aspects of agricultural science can be combined into a robust approach to farming, which will be productive, and environmentally and socially sustainable.

The event is jointly hosted by the African Foundation for Development (AFFORD), the Centre of African Studies and CABI.
