We are delighted to announce that we will celebrate United Nations Day this year at the University of Bedfordshire on 23rd October. You are warmly invited to join us at what will undoubtedly be an enlightening and stimulating evening.

The event is being jointly hosted by the University and the Luton branch of the United Nations Association-UK. Last year Sir Jeremy Greenstock, Chair of the United Nations Association-UK spoke about the role of the United Nations. This year also we will focus on important issues of global significance: the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, 70th anniversary of the UN Charter, Value of Democracy and Violations of Human Rights eg Modern-day Slavery - Human Trafficking. There will be an opportunity to put questions to the speakers at the end of their speeches.

The event takes place at 17:00hrs starting with the UN flag raising ceremony at the Postgraduate & CPD Centre, Luton Campus, with refreshments served from 17:15hrs. We will be pleased if you are able to join us to mark United Nations Day.
