SDG12:  RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION – “From leaky to loopy” – how the circular economy can provide enough, for all, for ever

At our November meeting, we are delighted to welcome Catherine Weetman to our “hot seat”.  Catherine is a Visiting Fellow at Huddersfield University and Vice-Chair of the CILT Environment and Sustainability Forum.  Her logistics career includes Kellogg, Tesco and DHL Supply Chain.  Her book, A Circular Economy Handbook for Business and Supply Chains, published by Kogan Page, includes a wealth of wide-ranging examples and tips on getting started.

Catherine aims to inspire people and especially businesses to demand, and create, a circular economy.  She’ll explain the circular economy concept, how it works in practice, and why it can help end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.   She invites us all to be ‘critical friends’ – and understand the barriers.  Is the ‘case for’ compelling enough?  How do we make this ‘the new normal’?  Finally she will ask what more could she be doing to engage with business leaders to “future-proof” the services they provide.

Arrive 6pm for a 6.30pm start and 8.30pm finish.
