In September 2015, world leaders committed to a 2030 vision for humanity comprising 17 new Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Delivering the Goals will require a team effort involving governments, corporations, other organisations, communities and ordinary citizens.

For those of us who are over 50, they also represent an opportunity to discover a new purpose in our lives as we approach our “retirement years”.  It is a chance to consider our legacy - the world we will leave for future generations.

This workshop will be introduced by Lindsay Cameron from Chapter 3 and facilitated by Clive Wilson, Chair of UNA Harrogate. We will consider the world we’d like to live in by 2030 and explore the synergy between this and the Global Goals.

This special event is kindly hosted by Primeast Ltd on behalf of UNA Harrogate and Chapter 3, an organisation that encourages individuals over 50 to make considered choices and plan active, inclusive and fulfilling lives.

Lindsay Cameron

Lindsay, a Scot, is passionate about helping people maximise their potential and make the most of their lives. “I was terrified of the changes that leaving full time work would bring, though, fortunately, had some special people to help me think through the next phase of my life”.  Now, she does that for others as co-founder and director of Chapter 3.

A former civil servant, Lindsay worked with members of the Senior Civil Service who aspired to Permanent Secretary level, for whom she developed world class leadership interventions alongside Harvard and UK universities and leading international business schools. With Scottish Enterprise, she created a Management Centre to help SME managers run exceptional businesses. In 2012 Lindsay volunteered with the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise, finding and training mentors for clients. “I am proud and honoured to have received an award as volunteer of the year from HRH Prince Charles at St James Palace in 2013”.

Clive Wilson

Clive is a director of Primeast, a consultancy headquartered in Harrogate, which specialises in leadership, change management and team development. Primeast works with some of the world’s most influential organisations across the world from its centres in Central Europe, US and UK and affiliations on every continent. Clive is the author of Designing the Purposeful Organization – how to inspire business performance beyond boundaries (Kogan Page 2015). He is also Chairman of UNA Harrogate, advocate for the Global Goals and a fellow of CIPD and CMI.  He has run several workshops to inspire people to support the Global Goals. These have included schools, universities, senior citizens and at the Youth Action Summit at the United Nations in New York in December 2015.
