Global citizens are  increasingly concernedthat nternational leadership will fail to agree on a legally binding agreement on measures to prevent, and mitigate the effects of, climate change in advance of the upcoming Climate Change summit in Paris this December.

There is an increasing sense that local  government can do much at local level to influence national governments, both by adopting green policies, and pressing national government to  take meaningful action.  Greenwich has a good track record on some green issues. and like other councils can therefore  "lead by example". Councillor Danny Thorpe leads a discussion at 7.45, after the AGM of the branch at 7.00pm.

Discussion will centre on what the future for council engagement on climate change mitigation, sustainability and community action.
