Anneka will be assisting on UNA-UK’s outreach and campaigns work, working with UNA-UK’s grassroots, supporters, universities, NGOs, partners and other key constituencies to build support for the UN in the UK.
Prior to joining UNA-UK, Anneka worked on advocacy and campaigns with Global Citizen, deepening public and political engagement on the issues of food security, hunger and nutrition. She has also worked in multi-stakeholder outreach processes for a refugee integration project with Wonder Foundation.
Anneka acts as a Youth Ambassador for the ONE Campaign, where she carries out grassroots campaigning on global health, gender equality and strengthening the impact of UK aid. She has also volunteered across multiple organisations within the international development sector, including a placement with Restless Development in India, where she worked to improve youth engagement with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Anneka holds a first class history degree from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she specialised in global health and gender.
