Charting a path to a world without nuclear weapons

UNA-UK has been awarded a major five-year ‘Special Peace Grant’ (administered by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust) and funding from the John Bright Centenary Appeal Fund of the UNA Trust to work on furthering multilateral nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

With this grant and co-funding from the UNA Trust and the John Bright Fund, we have launched ‘Towards Zero’, which builds on UNA-UK’s long tradition of disarmament campaigning.

We will be regularly reporting on this campaign through our website, newsletters and a new dedicated section in our magazine New World.

Review Conference

The conference, which takes place every five years, is organised to strengthen the international nuclear non-proliferation regime. On the back of the Review Conferences of 2000 and 2005 – widely regarded as being unsuccessful – the expectation surrounding the 2010 conference was high.
