Role: Helen is Communications Officer at UNA-UK. In this capacity she:

  • is responsible for the day-to-day management of UNA-UK's website, which includes writing copy, updating content, design and maintenance
  • supports the Head of Communications in the production of UNA-UK's tri-annual magazine and other publications, including through research, drafting copy and proofreading
  • compiles and disseminates UNA-UK's three monthly e-newsletters
  • maintains the UNA-UK Young Professionals Network mailing list
  • contributes to the organisation of events to raise awareness of the UN and its core messages
  • is the first point of contact for climate change enquiries and for communications-related enquiries from UNA-UK's three main supporter groups

Biography: Helen joined UNA-UK in February 2009 as an intern and was employed as a consultant before being offered a permanent position as as Communications Officer, with a particular focus on climate change. Prior to joining UNA-UK Helen worked as a freelance journalist and researcher on projects for Sally Keeble MP and the Centre of Economic Performance at the London School of Economics.

Helen is a graduate of King's College London (MSc Organisational Management) and L’Institute des Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po), where she graduated in European Studies. Alongside her studies, Helen has also participated in a number of voluntary community-based projects. Helen is fluent in German and has a working knowledge of French.
