UNA-UK AND PARLIAMENT

UNA-UK is the leading independent authority on the UN in the UK. We are committed to a strong, credible and effective UN at the centre of an international system governed by multilateralism and the rule of law. We believe that a strengthened and reformed UN is in the UK's national interest, and we strive to promote consistent and constructive government support for the UN and its work.

To this end, UNA-UK believes engagement with parliamentarians is crucial. As well as acting as secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the UN, UNA-UK holds an annual parliamentary lobby on the UN and regularly mobilises its members and supporters to lobby their MPs about key international issues.

UNA-UK engages parliamentarians through writing letters to ministers and making submissions on UN issues. UNA-UK Chair, Lord Hannay of Chiswick, frequently speaks in the House of Lords on international issues.
