Executive Director Sam Daws announces his decision to move on after six years at the helm of UNA-UK
At UNA-UK's Annual General Meeting on 6 March 2010, UNA-UK Executive Director Sam Daws announced that in September 2010 he would be moving on to a new challenge after six years in this role. In his speech, Sam told the AGM what a privilege it had been to serve the Association in this capacity, and that he wanted to warmly thank UNA-UK’s members, supporters and partners for their support and encouragement over the last five and a half years.
Sam is moving on to become a Senior Research Associate in the Centre for International Studies at the University of Oxford, where he will direct a project on UN governance and reform. He hopes to go on to establish a broader policy research institute on the UN, with a particular focus on giving a voice to UN practitioners and scholars from the developing world, and building links to other leading centres in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe.
