Each year on 29 May, UNA-UK marks the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers. The occasion provides the opportunity to celebrate the work of the UN’s thousands of peacekeepers currently serving in missions all over the world, and to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the line of duty - over 3,100 to date.

UNA-UK believes that a strong, credible and effective UN is essential for a more secure world, and we recognise the enormous contribution of UN peacekeeping to this goal.  That is why UNA-UK is calling on its members and supporters to sign a letter to ‘thank a UN peacekeeper’ for all they do to maintain peace and security internationally.

Responses will be collated and sent to the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
